Rowan Atkinson (AKA Mr. Bean) Just Sold His 1997 McLaren F1 For Over $12 Million

Previously, we brought you the story of how Rowan Atkinson (or Mr. Bean if you prefer) was selling his prized 1997 McLaren F1 luxury supercar. The English actor became super rich thanks mostly to his best known character, Mr. Bean. With a net worth of $130 million, he had no trouble buying a purple McLaren F1 back in 1997 for just under $1 million. This car became one of the crown jewels in Atkinson's awesome collection.
Earlier this year, Atkinson hoped to sell this luxury vehicle for about $15 million at auction. While the famed actor did not make quite as much as he had hoped for, he sold the McLaren F1 for about $12.3 million. Although the car was not intended to be an investment, Atkinson ended up making more than $11 million over the 18 years he owned and drove the car (he put 41,000 miles on it). Purchased by a British buyer, the sale ended up being one of the biggest car deals ever done in the UK. I am guessing that the buyer happened to be a fan of Mr. Bean, and that drove up the price.

Hillary Clinton's Secret Weapon Is The Wife Of Multi-Billionaire Planetary Overloard Sir Evelyn de Rothschild

There are power couples who don't need last names to be recognized — Jay Z and Beyonce, Bill and Hillary, Kim and Kanye, to name a few. And then there are those whose family name says it all, as in the case of Sir Evelyn de Rothschild and his wife, Lady Lynn Forester de Rothschild. Together, they make up one of the most powerful and richest husband and wife duos in the world, with a combined net worth of $20 billion. But you wouldn't recognize them as Evelyn and Lynn alone, even though Hillary Clinton might.
Back in 2008, Lady Lynn, who was already successful on her own merits before marrying the richest member of the Rothschild dynasty, was a fierce supporter of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. After Obama trounced Hillary in the Democratic primary, Lynn drew headlines by turning her back on her party's nominee, catching flack for calling Obama an "elitist" who had "trouble connecting with ordinary Americans." The irony of one of the most powerful women in the world calling anyone else an elitist was not lost on the press. Coming out in support of the Republican McCain/Palin ticket did not help Lynn's populist image. But now with Hillary running again, Lynn is back in the spotlight as a true-blue supporter, reportedly hosting a fundraiser for the 2016 candidate on her current tour.
"I really think it's vital for our country to get Hillary Clinton elected," she recently told The Washington Post. "I'm feeling like this is it."
But, other than being a Rothschild wife, who is Lynn Forester? And why is she so set on a Hillary presidency?

Billionaire Of The Day: George Soros Has Plenty to Give Away

Sean Gallup/Getty Images
As a group, billionaires tend to be on the conservative side, which perhaps is to be expected of almost any group of people who acquire a lot of money over the course of their lives. But George Soros is different, and he's attained a unique kind of infamy among certain right-leaning people as a result. But it's not just his support of various progressive and liberal causes that makes George Soros a familiar name – his Soros Fund Management is considered by financial experts to be a trailblazer in the field of hedge funds, while simultaneously having broken the mold in terms of giving profits back to charities, liberal causes, and outside investors.
George Soros also isn't your typical billionaire in how he came to earn his fortune. Despite his net worth of over $24 billion and his status as the 29th richest person on the planet, he started out as a broke Hungarian émigré in London, where he worked menial jobs like waiting tables and as a train porter to put himself through the London School of Economics (evidently he sensed a knack for finance even back then). Soros started his first hedge fund in 1969, after he had moved to New York City and Wall Street – it had a relatively paltry $12 million, but it was a big success, and would eventually come to be known as the Quantum Fund.

Carlos Slim Lists Historic NYC Mansion For $80 Million!!

It takes a lot to impress the New York Real estate market. Well Carlos Slim Helu, the Mexican telecom magnate and philanthropist, recently listed his Fifth Avenue mansion for a staggering $80 million, according to reports.
The business superstar bought the mansion in 2010 for $44 million, according to The Daily News, and if he is successful in getting his ask price, it will turn yet another very handsome profit for the world's second richest man.
Known as the Benjamin N. and Sarah Duke House, this is one of the most talked about properties in New York real estate. Strikingly visual, construction was completed on the house in 1901, and it is replete with architectural features of expert design.  The limestone and red brick facade, however, is a showpiece of the Beaux-Arts era. It fronts East 82nd Street dramatically, with a curved central bay, glass and wrought iron marquee, iron detailing on the doors, and throughout the windows and stone balconies below the second-floor windows. There is also a curved conservatory window, that offers uninterrupted views of city life bustling by. An entire line of dormer windows, red tiling and a copper finish completes the roof.

Billionaire Larry Ellison Closes 97% Of Hawaiian Island Lanai For Extreme Renovations

It's a sad stereotype, but billionaires are just not known for their environmentalism. Luckily for the self-esteem of billionaires everywhere (not to mention the environment),Larry Ellison is breaking free of that harmful perception, with a project that's making headlines for improvements he's making to the Hawaiian island of Lanai. There are two other interesting things at play here, which probably explains why a billionaire making environmentally-oriented improvements to a resort he owns is getting so much play in the media. For one, Ellison owns 98% of the entire island, the result of a $300 million purchase he made back in 2012. And it's all but 1% of those holdings that are being closed off to visitors in order for the improvements to be made.
Granted, Lanai is the smallest piece of the Hawaiian Islands that's open to public visitors in the first place, but it's still an impressive feat when an individual manages to close down a whopping 97% of any island, regardless of how small it is. And in doing so, Larry Ellison hopes to make Lanai "the first economically viable, 100% green community." At least, that's what he says he hopes to do, and we just have to trust that he isn't involved in some kind of James Bond villain plot to take over the world from his tiny tropical island stronghold.

The Final Mayweather-Pacquiao Revenue Numbers Are In!! Here's How Much Money Everyone Will Take Home.

No more guessing, no more estimating, no more speculating, no more speculessating. The final numbers have been tallied and we now know exactly how much Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will earn off their record-smashing fight of the century.
If you've been following this story on Celebrity Net Worth recently, I have good and bad news. The bad news is Floyd and Manny won't earn quite as much as we predicted last week ($280 million and $190 million, respectively). The good news is they are still both going to take home a SHIT TON of money.
Last week, when we predicted that Floyd could earn as much as $280 million, we were basing that on the assumption that the final Pay-Per-View buy count would top 5.6 million. The actual final number? 4.4 million buys.

Benevolent Chinese Billionaire Takes 6,400 Of His Employees On A Luxury French Vacation

Hypothetical scenario: You work for a company that is about to pass its 20th anniversary. How do you think the founder of your company would celebrate this occasion? If the company just had a few employees, maybe the boss would treat everyone to a fancy dinner somewhere. Maybe the boss would even give each employee a $100 gift certificate to Starbucks or something. If the company had hundreds of employees, I imagine that the founder wouldn't do much more than send out a celebratory email. MAYBE he or she would go so far as to give everyone in the company a random vacation day. And if the company had thousands of employees, I'm doubting anything would be done at all. The founder would probably throw a lavish party for a small group of executives, right? The founder certainly wouldn't take thousands of his employees on a luxury French vacation. Right? Well, apparently Chinese billionaire Li Jinyuan is not your typical boss…
Twenty years ago, Li Jinyuan founded a company called the Tiens Group in the Chinese port city of Tianjin. The company's first business operation was to export Chinese medicines, Calcium tablets and a generic brand of instant coffee. Tiens eventually went on to hire an army of multi-level direct salespeople to push its products to consumers. The company expanded into selling pharmaceuticals, healthcare products and a wide variety of nutritional supplements.
By 2009, Tiens Group was selling products to over 16 million customers in 190 countries. For some reason, the majority of their customers are in Russia. The Tiens Group is sort of like the Herbalife of Russia and China.
Today the company has 8000 employees and generates over $500 million worth of profits every year. In 2011, Forbes estimated that Li Jinyuan's personal net worth exceeded $1 billion for the first time. His net worth has since dipped to around $800 million.

Stephen Colbert Just Did Something Incredibly Awesome For A Whole Bunch Of Teachers In His Home State

Stephen Colbert just did something incredibly shocking. No it's not a PR stunt for his upcoming takeover of David Letterman's Late Show. It doesn't even have anything to do with comedy. But it did make a lot of teachers very happy…
Yesterday, Stephen Colbert announced that he was going to fully fund every single teacher grant request from his home state of South Carolina. The grant requests were made through an educational crowdfunding site called DonorsChoose.org.
Through this site, donors can choose a category to help out teachers with their requests. Colbert took care of all the requests from South Carolina teachers in areas like art, science, math, field trips, and books. The announcement of this amazing gift was made at an elementary school in Greenville, SC where Colbert appeared on a live video feed.
So just how much did all of this giving amount to? The total was right around $800,000! Colbert and his charitable partners took care of nearly 1,000 requested projects. They helped over 800 teachers at roughly 400 schools.

The Richest Human Beings Of All Time – #22: Carlos Slim Helu

When you adjust for inflation, Carlos Slim Helu is the 22nd richest person who has ever lived. With a current net worth of $71.7 billion, Carlos Slim Helu is the second richest person in the world today. In fact, from 2010 to 2013, he actually was the richest person in the world, knocking out Bill Gates for the first time in a decade. So where did the man known as the "Warren Buffett of Mexico" come from, and how did he earn such a massive fortune? His wealth seems to have come from a combination of business savvy, intuition, luck, and the solid investment instruction he received from his successful father. Not only has he amassed an incredible fortune, but his network of businesses continues to show growth and increased value. It's pretty clear that Carlos Slim Helu's massive wealth is here to stay. Here's how a boy from Mexico laid the foundation for a major business empire.
Carlos Slim Helu was born in Mexico City, Mexico on January 28, 1940. His father moved from Lebanon to Mexico in the early 1900s, and his mother was from a Lebanese family already living in Mexico. His parents are credited with establishing one of the first magazines in Arabic published in Mexico. They also launched a dry good store, which went on to become quite profitable. From there, Helu's father, Julien Slim Haddad, began investing in real estate. Eleven years after launching their dry goods store, Haddad was a millionaire. In fact, Carlos Slim Helu attributes much of his business acumen to what he learned from his father. His father was considered a major trendsetter with regards to discount store operations, and he built a sizable business empire in Mexico. His continued success made him quite powerful in Mexico City, and he was instrumental in investing in local businesses whenever the economy dipped, thereby keeping the city alive.

George Clooney On His Birthday? How About A $176k Porsche 911 GT3 RS?

George Clooney used to drive the Batmobile so you know it must be pretty hard to impress him with a car. Not only that, this guy seems to have it – From an incredible acting career, to a beautiful new bride, and multiple Oscar wins. So what do you get the man who has everything on his birthday??? A new amazing Porsche obviously!
Clooney turns 54 tomorrow, and to celebrate, his new wife Amal got him quite the gift to add to his car collection. Amal splurged and bought George a brand new 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
The Porsche 911 GT3 RS will replace George's current 911. It will do the same for the luxury car maker. Clooney is a guy who loves cars and likes them to be "stylish and fast," so his new GT3 RS will fit right in. It will feature a 4.0 liter flat-six engine that will be placed in the rear of the vehicle and will have 500 horsepower. It uses Porsche's 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and has a top speed of 193 miles per hour with a 0 to 60 mph time of 3.1 seconds. Clooney should have no problem getting the type of speed he likes in this amazing car.

Floyd Mayweather's Net Worth Soars To $380 Million. Pacquiao's Net Worth Tops $175 Million.

Not sure if you heard anything about this, but there was a little boxing match over the weekend. On Saturday, Floyd Mayweatherand Manny Pacquiao finally met in what was easily the most hyped fight of all time andBY FAR the most lucrative fight of all time. When the fight was first announced, revenues for the match were projected to be $300 million. Early indicators are now showing that the final number may have actually topped $400 million. We won't know the exact number for at least a few days or weeks as the PPV buys are tallied and vendor proceeds are collected. But even before those final dollars are counted, we can already make a very simple assumption:Floyd and Manny's respective net worths just absolutely exploded.
Fight Earnings
Prior to the fight, Floyd Mayweather's net worth was $280 million. His career earnings prior to Saturday topped $400 million. His highest single-night paycheck before Pacquiao was the $75 million he earned by fighting Saul Alvarez in September 2013. Mayweather was entitled to 60% of the profits earned from Saturday's fight. As of this writing, most indicators are showing that his 60% cut will eventually result in a check for between $150 and $200 million.
Prior to the fight, Manny Pacquiao's net worth was $120 million. His career earnings prior to Saturday topped $263 million. His highest single-night paycheck before Mayweather was the $35 million he earned by fighting Migeul Cotto in November 2009. Pacquiao was entitled to 40% of the profits earned from Saturday's fight. As of this writing, most indicators are showing that his 40% cut will eventually result in a check for between $100 and $130 million.

The Yankees Are Refusing To Pay Alex Rodriguez Millions Of Homerun Bonus Dollars

Alex Rodriguez hit his 660th home run on Friday, an otherwise historic feat, tying Willie Mays on the all-time home run list. And as a part of A-Rod's whopping 10-year, $275 million contract signed back in 2007, the Yankees were supposed to pay him $6 million for reaching the milestone.
But surprise, surprise, that bonus is not being paid. A-Rod can actually potentially earn additional $6 million bonuses for reaching the other home run milestones, which include tying Babe Ruth at 714, Hank Aaron at 755, Barry Bonds at 762, and becoming the all-time home run leader by surpassing Bonds. That's a grand total of $30 million, and as of right now, the Yankees have indicated they're going to pay exactly NONE of it. GM Brian Cashman has publicly come out and said the team isn't planning on paying, and during the winter, the team privately told Rodriguez not to expect to receive the bonus.

Nicki Minaj Paid Small Fortune To Appear At New York City Teenager's Bar Mitzvah

One lucky New York City kid just had the bar mitzvah party of his dreams and it cost his father a pretty penny! Matt Murstein, the son of New York taxicab medallion mogul Andrew Murstein, had his wish to have his favorite rapper perform a private show for 150 of his closest friends and family.
Andrew Murstein is the founder and president of the publically traded Medallion Financial Corp., which specializes in financing taxicab fleets. Murstein's net worth is estimated to be $300 million. The elder Murstein also co-owns Richard Petty Motorsports NASCAR team and the professional lacrosse team the New York Lizards.
Matt is a big fan of Nicki Minaj and what Matt wants, Matt gets.
Minaj performed a seven-song set during the private show including the cleaned up version of "Super Bass." The rap-superstar also did a meet and greet with Matt and his guests. Sources said she took photos with nearly all of the 150 kids there.

Bruce Jenner Buys And Moves Into $3.5 Million Malibu Mansion

Bruce Jenner, former Olympic decathlon champion, actor in made-for-television movies and reality TV personality, has moved into a ranch-style Malibu house high on a hilltop and big on privacy.
Situated on an arid hilltop, the 3,500-square-foot house has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, and is surrounded by about 11 acres of private property. The design is clean, spare and minimalist – almost industrial – features concrete and glass, plus heavy wood beam accents.
The interior features bright neutral walls, hardwood floors, and recessed lighting. The entrance leads almost right away to a step-down living room area where the stone fireplace is the central focal point of the room. The bright, airy bathroom offers a vanity and Jacuzzi tub. There are plenty of sliding glass doors around the home, particularly in the bedrooms, and it has glass walls that allow in plenty of light. Its locale is so high above El Pescador State Beach, though, that privacy is ensured, which is probably what Jenner, who is in the midst of a gender transformation, is looking for.

This Major Leaguer Is Getting Paid $68 Million To Leave His Team

Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty ImagesIt's been a career of highs and lows for Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton. The highs, coming during his time with the Texas Rangers, have been pretty great: an AL MVP award in 2010, hitting four home runs in a game in 2012 (setting a major league record for total bases–18–in the process), consecutive pennants in 2010 and 2011. The lows can often be traced to Hamilton's struggles with alcohol and drugs. He was out of baseball
